Close to the place mound of Mahasthangarh on east is the well-known Jiyat Kunda or the well of life. A folklore credit that kings Parasuram breathe new life into his dead solders with the water of this well during his fight with Shah Sultan Balkhi Maheswar and his followers. the Muslim saint learning about the life giving power of the water of the well, polluted it by throwing a piece of beaf with the help of a kite, which eventually led to the defeat and destruction of the Hindu king.
The well:
It is inside the diameter of 12.8 feet on the top. It is reduce on story of offsets as it goes deeper. A huge granite rectangular stone-block, measuring 6.10 feet long, 1.8 feet broad and 1.6 feet in thickness lies on the eastside of the well. It is use for the facility of drawing water and quite evidently formed part of the original construction of the well. The stone is carved with beautiful a floral design in relief of probably late Gupta period. The well is at present practically choked up with brick bats and other rubbish.
